Supervision & Consultation
Throughout the training year, Psychotherapeutic Externs are provided with a multitude of individual and group supervision and consultation opportunities, with a variety of multidisciplinary professions.
Supervision
Individual Supervision
Psychotherapeutic Externs will receive at least 1 hour/week of individual supervision with the Clinical Director/Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Live supervision will be used, including in vivo observation, co-therapy and other modalities.
Group Supervision
Weekly group supervision is focused on case formulation, formal case presentations, and integration of understanding of clinical diagnosis and family dynamics. Psychotherapeutic Externs will present a case two times throughout the year. This seminar is facilitated by the Clinical Director/Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a strong focus on didactic training in evidence-supported clinical interventions and modalities.
Clinical Team Group Supervision
Clinical Team supervision focuses in on specific needs of the clinical team that comes up during the course of their clinical work. This is a time to process and conceptualize cases as well as provide support and feedback to one another based on clinical challenges and questions that arise.
Consultation
Family Therapy Consultation
Psychotherapeutic Externs have the opportunity receive weekly consultation from a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to discuss and conceptualize their family therapy cases.
Psychiatric Consultation
Psychotherapeutic Externs have the opportunity to receive monthly consultation with a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on issues related to psychopharmacology.
Autism Consultation
Psychotherapeutic Externs have the opportunity to receive monthly consultation from a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder and neurodevelopment on issues related to students on their caseload who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or issues with neurodevelopment.
